About Our Company

Vitex Packaging Group, a printer converter in Suffolk, Virginia. We started in the tea business in 1954 and have continued to service both large and small companies in North America and Internationally (Asia & the Middle East). We have the capability of running up to 9 colors on several presses and have upgraded our plate-making, sliiting, and pouching capabilities which have allowed us to expand into the medical, pharmaceutical, health & beauty, and food and beverage markets.

Vitex has the technology, skills, and resources to provide innovative, cost-effective packaging solutions to the medical, food, and beverage contract manufacturing markets. We specialize in producing top quality, innovative packaging components for food and medical packaging and many of the world’s leading tea and coffee brands. 

We are a preferred and growing supplier to over 200 customers due to our speed of delivery, mangagement of multiple SKUs, quality, consistency, customer service, and technical support. Vitex is primarily a printer converter, but will source products and services where necessary to satisfy customer needs.

Peter Hunt (CEO) has come to Vitex Packaging Group with a wealth of knowledge and 40 plus years of manufacturing and high-level management experience. As CEO, Mr. Hunt’s duties include but are not limited to the implementation and oversight of the organizational strategy, vision and mission.

Above all, Mr. Hunt’s duty has been to oversee the return of profit for VPG as he has done with so many companies prior to VPG. With companies such as the Clondalkin Group, Pharmagraphics Inc., J.B. Poindexter & Co., Morgan Corporation and many more; Mr. Hunt’s history for success makes him the perfect fit at VPG.

 
DeGrandis


As the CFO at Vitex Packaging, Mike is responsible for all the financial operations of the business. These financial operations include: financial reporting, risk management, cash management, and banking matters.
Before joining Vitex Packaging, Mike worked as CFO at Minute Key, Inc. While with Minute Key he helped grow their annual income from $100,000 to over $20 million in three years. Mike’s responsibly at Minute Key included: growing the venture capital equity, venture debt, building finance function, and a system of processes and controls. Prior to Minute Key, Mike was a Managing Partner and CFO at Kirtland Capital Partners. Here Mike was involved in all aspects of the business – fund raising, finding and reviewing investment opportunities, and managing portfolio companies.
When Mike isn’t working behind the desk, he is enjoying time with his family and his dog, Winston.

 
Rich


As Vice President of Operations Richard oversees manufacturing, supply chain operations, procurement, production scheduling, inventory management, engineering, facility maintenance, and training.
Richard holds a BS in Business Administration from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
Richard has over 27 years of manufacturing operations and supply chain experience and has been employed with Vitex Packaging since 2008.

 
Moore


As the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Michael Moore brings 42 years of Sales and Marketing experience to Vitex Packaging. His responsibilities include: contracting, negotiating, and change management, setting sales quota, and planning and coordinating sales for Vitex Packaging.

Michael holds a Bachelors degree & M.B.A from the University of Richmond. His first 31 years were spent at Reynolds Metals/Alcoa in various Sales & Marketing roles, in their flexible packaging, consumer & Foodservice businesses. The past 13 years have been bringing in sales for Vitex Packaging, where he is now responsible for Vitex Packaging’s Global Tea Packaging Sales.

 
Scott


As Vice President of New Business Development, Scott’s responsibilities focus on opportunities to utilize the capabilities of Vitex Packaging. His main focal point is for the growth in key markets using printed roll stock, as well as pouches requiring laminated structures and flexible films. Scott has strong listening skills and the ability to assess the needs both internally and externally, in order to implement effective solutions.

Prior to joining Vitex Packaging Group, Scott worked for Novolex (f/k/a) Hilex Poly, Accutech Films, Parade Packaging and Fortune Plastics. He has held a variety of positions including, VP of National Accounts, VP of Sales, and General Manager. Scott has over 31 years of experience as a Senior Manager in operational, sales, and marketing. He also has a track record of success in business development, and organizational improvement.

 
Sandy


As Vice President of Quality and Technical Services, Sandy is part of the New Business Development team, working with Sales and Customers to drive the technical projects for new and improved products to new and existing customers. Sandy also heads the Quality Departments and all Food Safety, FDA, ISO, and other certification and compliance programs.

Sandy is a Purdue graduate in Chemical Engineering and also studied for her MBA at the University of Cincinnati. She has over 20 years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Product Development roles. Her flexible packaging experience at Berry Plastics, Star Packaging, Tara Plastics, and The Robinette Company includes flexo printing, adhesive laminating, extrusion coating and laminating, blown film, and all types of pouching and bag making.
